JOHN LENNON 'HOME' T-SHIRT
'HOME' restaurant was one of John Lennon's favourite places to hang out in New York City. Situated on 91st & Second Ave. 'HOME' was a particular favourite of the city's musicians, who would come to eat, drink & jame there, including Richie Havens, stalwart of the Greenwich Village folk scene, & rock 'n' rollers, Badfinger.
John Lennon's secretary from Apple Records, Mae Pang, was a fan of the joint & promised owner Richard Ross that she would bring the recently arrived Lennon down for a drink. John & Yoko duly showed up early in 1972 dressed as Hasidic rabbis, complete with false beards & arriving in a VW Bug. A hazy night was spent sinking Wild Turkey & John was given his first 'HOME' t-shirt, which he subsequently took to wearing at concerts & also on the back of 1972's 'Sometime In New York City' album.
