Men’s Autumn Winter Trends

Autumn Winter 12/13 Trends

Your key must have trends for this coming autumn winter that are not to be missed!

Prints

Animal Motifs:

Again this season animals prove popular inspiration with quirky prints and hand rendered silhouettes through to abstract designs. Mythical accents and eccentric monocles add graphic twists. Colourful impression prints and native shapes create whimsical visuals.

Digital Art Effects:

Artistic endevors are re-imagined with digital accents for the new season. Marbling, paint splatters and water colour effects are all computer generated and enhanced with heavy contrasted colours and saturated designs. These effects give a sense of hyper-real futuristic prints for the trend.

Monochrome Photographic Prints:

Digitalised images in black and white are inverted into prints on all garments. The grainy images give a sense of vintage and add a textured edge to the prints. X-ray-ed skeletons and war imagery prove most popular for the season. The injection of humorous imagery is also included to create bold pieces.

Colours

Red:

Vibrant red is a big shade for the new season. It’s an easy way to instantly update your style. Simple tailored styles are a great way of creating bold and contemporary looks. Knitwear and outerwear with red are perfect to refresh clean silhouettes. For maximum impact contrast with embellishments for a statement look to die for!

Royal Blue:

Royal blue is the new seasons colour. Most prominent with knits and cottons jersey the intensity of the vivid blue is heightened when contrasted with blacks or tan shades. The shade provides range building inspiration to layer designs for that ultimate bold look.

Coats & Jackets

Duffle Coats:

Duffle coats are a continuing trend for menswear; each year they are getting bigger and bigger. The classic style provides a staple look. The minimal updates of the coat create a timeless garment with block colours, chunky fastenings and lining effects.

Leather Paneled Bombers:

Bomber jackets are re-worked this season with injections of leather and wool. On the catwalk panels are worked outside traditional lines adding a modern twist to the classic style. The use of different fabrics helps define the shape more for a contemporary effect.

Knits

Ombre:

Ombre is getting bigger and bigger each season. Both tonal and graduated knits can create an ombre effect. Blurring the line of block colours and creating a dip dyed effect is a modern approach to wearing bold colours. Any style any shade, wear ombre and you’ll be right on trend!

Tops

Box Tops:

Box tops were on the catwalks in abundance this season. It is a great alternative to layering. The box shape was most popular in the 90′s and has shone though again. Layered over long sleeved items to create casual effects for a modern finish. The box style can be worn alone or used to update other items to break up prints. However you wear it, it will create a bold look.

Trousers

Teddy Boy Jeans:

Crisp indigo jeans are subjected for manipulation for autumn winter. Adding turn up details making reference to the 50′s, gives the jeans a whole new look. Loose cut styles see jeans move away from the prevalent skinnies and tapered designs. Straight leg jeans still maintain their tapered style which still works well with rolling up the hem for a preppy urban twist.
